Sagamore Pendry Hotel

Baltimore | Maryland

Originally a dance hall and once a social and educational hub for early 20th century Baltimore immigrants, the Fells Point Recreation Pier in historic Fell's Point has a rich place in Baltimore's history. Built in 1914, it once housed the harbormaster's office and served as a working pier for ships bring in deliveries from Europe. More recently, it served as a stand-in for a police station in the NBC drama Homicide, Life on the Streets and a movie set for Disney's Step Up movies. BHC created the design to convert this historic structure to a 129 room luxury boutique hotel. The original head house was restored to serve as the hotel entrance containing the main lobby, restaurant and bar on the ground level, with office space on the upper levels. The original ballroom was restored and modernized to serve as the hotels banquet facility. Three levels of guestrooms wrap around the existing pier with the majority having unobstructed views onto the harbor while the others look over a interior landscaped courtyard. The end of the pier has an infinity edge pool, cabanas and pool bar.
